Fabric texture changes everything. On terry cloth or heavy fleece? The detail blurs. On lightweight rayon or silk? Stabilizer choice becomes critical — medium tear-away + light cut-away combo worked best in my tests. Avoid using it raw on thin knits unless you’re adding backing and testing stitch density carefully.
Dark fabric demands contrast checks. This design relies on tonal variation — not bold outlines. On navy or charcoal, lighter thread colors (cream, pale grey) read well, but white can disappear in shadowed fill zones. Always preview in black-and-white mockups.
Curved surfaces need simplification. I tried it on a structured cap front — the outer loops distorted slightly. For caps, hats, or curved tote bag pockets, consider trimming or simplifying outer elements yourself, or use only the central motif.

Test on scrap fabric *with the exact stabilizer and thread I’ll use* — not just generic cotton.
Run a black-and-white mockup to confirm visual weight against both light and dark backgrounds.
Inspect corners and inner loops in the software — some file versions include delicate running stitch accents that vanish on stretchy fabric unless stabilized properly.
